Review: ‘Wake’ jars the imagination, memorable characters

Wake (Dream Catcher, #1)Wake by Lisa McMann

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I enjoy books that trip me out with weird plots and subject matter and throw in a cute guy and you got yourself a story to hold on to.

Janie has a problem.

She can creep into people’s dreams. She even enters their wildest, erotic dreams and unfortunately, their nightmares. One night she is literally thrust into a nightmare that leaves her panting and never wanting to sleep again.

Then there is Cabel. The boy she knew since she was a child and now he has matured, gotten more handsome and she feels she can trust anyone with her secret. Can she trust him? What secrets does he have?

When Janie enters Cabel’s dreams, things get interesting.

This book was hard to let go of. It earns five stars for being: quick to read, unique storyline, the writing was lyrical in prose form. Quick books that are also hot reads is what’s in right now.

Now, on to Book 2: Fade.
