I recently reviewed Waterfall and I must say I was not disappointed at any point in the story. Some books I have read and found some sort of slump in the plot and that is okay if it furthers the story, yet Waterfall was able to keep pace, keep up the adventure, and was historically sound. Lisa T. Bergren has done her research and proved that not every teen book involves a girl who is weak or lazy. Gabriella Betarrini is a strong willed young lady and is constantly called a she-wolf or she-warrior. That is not to say she has not felt pain or was never confounded byt he complexities of love.
Background of Waterfall: The Betarrini sisters always travel to Italy with their parents in the summer. Each time they go there, it is only to watch them dig up a historical site. This time, Gabi finds a tomb and which mysteriously transports her back through time and right int he midst of a battle for land and a battle for her heart.
This book was so good I must offer more to satisfy your medieval tastes!
